Gozo's Santa Maria Cathedral is often described as the "Jewel in the Crown" of this enchanting Island.
The Santa Maria Cathedral in Victoria is a truly unique and fascinating site, combining a rich and varied history and magnificent Baroque architecture. The Cathedral itself is built on the site of an ancient Roman temple that was dedicated to Juno. The Gozo Cathedral Chapter wanted to develop their tourism efforts yet retain their beautiful church as a place of worship.
This was achieved by designing an audio tour which is informative and entertaining yet retains the dignity of this place of worship. The tour covers all the interior and exterior of the Cathedral as well as the Cathedral Museum and places of interest around the magnificent fortifications of the Citadel.
Our Audio Guide is included free with your admission to the Cathedral and is available in Maltese, English, French, German and Italian.
